The St. Louis Cardinals played long ball to beat the San Diego Padres last night at Busch Stadium. Jose Martinez and Marcel Ozuna hit 2 run homers and Jed Gyorko hit a solo shot as the Cards win 5-2. Jack Flaherty pitched 6 1/3 innings, givinh up jst 1 run on 3 hits to earn the win, Bud Norris pitched the 9th for the save. The Cards and Padres play again tonight at Busch, Miles Mikolas looks for his 8th for the Redbirds.
The Kansas City Royals, who have dropped 7 of their last 8 games will open a series with the Reds tonight at Kauffman. Ian Kennedy will pitch for KC.
