Hardy has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission for $200,000 for a water tank renovation. Additional funds are to be added to cover the delivery cost. Reports are that the city was notified more than 10 years ago that the tank needed maintenance. At That time the city did not have the money for the maintenance. The project will include extending the height of the tank to increase capacity and then fully rehabilitate the tank inside and out. The city will use a smaller tank while the project is being completed.
