Matt Carpenter hit another home-run and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Florida Marlins in Miami last night 7-1. The Cards got started early with a 1st inning homer from Yadier Molina. Carpenter hit his league leading 31st bomb in the 6th to give the Redbirds the lead. Marcell Ozuna double home a run in the same frame. The Cardinals tacked on 2 more in the 8th on a Paul DeJong double and added 2 more in the 9th on a double by Molina. The Cards win the series, their 4th straight series win and pull to with-in 6 ½ games of the lead the NL Central.
The Redbirds have the day off today before opening a series in KC with the Royals.
