Cardinals Win a Thriller With Walk-Off Home Run

The St. Louis Cardinals win a thriller last night at Busch Stadium, their 10th walk-off win of the season.  A ho-hum game turned in the 7th inning when Juan Soto hit a 2 run home to give the Washington Nationals a 4-2 lead.  In the bottom of the 8th, the Cardinals got a solo-home run from Jed Gyorko to pull within 4-3, a couple of base runners later, Matt Carpenter stepped up and hit a 3 run bomb to give the Cardinals a 6-4 lead, only to see Bud Norris blow the save opportunity in the top of the 9th as the the Nats tied it at 6.  In the bottom of the 9th, Paul DeJong hit a walk off homer over the left field wall for a 7-6 Cardinals win, the Redbirds 6th straight victory.

The Cardinals and Nationals play again tonight at Busch Stadium.
