Cardinals Win Again, Royals Lose Tuesday

The St. Louis Cardinals have run their winning streak to 7 in a row with a 6-4 win last night over the Washington Nationals.  John Gant pitched a strong 5 1/3 innings, giving up just 1 run, and he also hit a two-run homer, his first major league hit.  Kolten Wong powered the Cardinals offense going 3-3 with 3 RBI’s as the Redbirds go 10 games over .500 for the first time this season.  The Cards are now just 4 games behind Chicago in the NL Central and just 2 games out in the Wildcard race.

St. Louis and Washington play again tonight and Busch Stadium.

The Kansas City Royals lost 6-5 to the Toronto Blue Jays at Kauffman.  Trailing early, the Royals tallied 3 runs in the 3rd to tie the game, but Toronto broke the tie in the 4th, and scored 2 in 8th to seal the win.  The Royals and Blue Jays play again tonight in KC.
