One person was killed and another injured in an ATV accident Saturday evening in Independence County. The Arkansas State Police report that 38 year old Archie Sams of Batesville was killed and 27 year old Hailey Dawn Brock of Newport was injured when Sams failed to negotiate a curve, and left the roadway. Both Sams and Brock were ejected from the ATV. Brock was taken to White River Medical Center. Sams was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident happened on the Jametown Loop in Batesville.
