Izard County Authorities Arrested Three People After A Home Visit

Law-enforcement in Izard County continue to work on stopping illegal drug activity. According to Chief Deputy Charley Melton, On February 13, Officers with Probation/Parole, Izard County Sheriff’s Department, and the 16th Drug Task Force made a home visit at the residence of Russell Blevins, age 54 of Violet Hill, who is under active supervision of Arkansas Community Corrections. During the search, drug paraphernalia, pseudoephedrine, methamphetamine, and firearms were located. Also at the residence during this time was Kristi Ford, age 44 of Violet Hill and Polly Nievaard age 55 of Horseshoe Bend. As a result of the home visit, Blevins was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; a class “D” felony, possession of pseudoephedrine; a class “D” felony, felon in possession of firearm two counts; a class “D” felony, maintaining a drug premises; a class “C” felony, and habitual offender; an unclassified enhancement. Blevins bond was set at $30,000 professional on the new charges with a court date of February 18 in the Izard County Circuit Court. Blevins was currently out on bond from Izard County Circuit Court on felony drug charges. That bond was revoked. Nievaard was charged with possession of a controlled substance; a class “D” felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia; a class “D” felony. Nievaard’s bond was set at $10,000 professional with a court date of February 18 in the Izard County Circuit Court. Ford was charged with a misdemeanor of possession of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $1,250 professional with a court date of March 5 in the Izard County District Court.
