Second Death from Covid in Howell County

The Howell County Health Department reports they have been notified of the second county resident who has died as a result of COIVID-19. The individual was a 60 year old male. No more information will be released to protect the identity of the deceased.

In addition, 5 more county residents have now tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the year to date total to 122 cases. Presently, 30 individuals are considered to be active and on isolation and one remains hospitalized.

Four of the new cases reside in West Plains, and one resides in the Caulfield area. All five are isolating at home under public health guidance. Three of the cases were community spread, while 2 were traced to known cases.

There were no exposures to the general public to report. Known significant contacts to these cases have been notified by the health department.

State-wide, Missouri saw in increase in Covid-19 cases of 957.

Oregon county remains at 12 cases, Texas county has 2 new cases and 25 total, Ozark county reports 5, Shannon county 41 with 1 death, and Ripley county has 38.
