The Highland Trapshooters Compete At Aim Grand National Championship

The Highland Trapshooters Team, comprised of area youth recently attended the AIM Grand National Trapshooting Championship in Linn Creek, Missouri on August 2-4. This tournament is annually held in Sparta, Il, but had to relocate this year due to Covid. AIM is the official youth program of the Amateur Trapshooting Association With a total of 1160 kids from across the country, they competed in 4 events over 3 days.

The team carried home the AIM Grand National Class A Junior Championship with a score of 960/1,000 Individual awards were: Isaac Gregory: 3rd place, Sub-Junior Doubles with a score of 96/100 High All Around (HAA) Sub Junior Class AAA Runner-Up with a score of 384/400 Logan Jennings: 3rd place, Junior Class C Doubles with a score of 88/100 After the 3 days of the AIM Grand National Trapshooting Championship, shooting continued with the start of the 2020 Amateur Trapshooting Shooting Associations Grand American World Trapshooting Championships Aug. 5-15. This consists of 5 preliminary days for shooters to fine tune their skills, and 6 days of what is referred to as “Grand Week”. Be sure to read next week for results from that tournament.
