A Horseshoe Bend Woman Was Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison For Negligent Homicide

A Horseshoe Bend woman has been sentenced to 8 years in prison in connection with a traffic crash that claimed the life of a teen in January of 2019. Authorities say that 62-year-old Cheryl Clement was intoxicated when hit a truck driven by 39-year-old Rodney Kemp head-on. 17-year-old Tiffany Russell die in the crash. According to court documents, Clement had a blood alcohol content of .217 four hours after the crash. She negotiated a plea of guilty of negligent homicide, second degree battery and DWI. She is being held in Izard County awaiting transfer to the ADC.
