WEST PLAINS, MO – Ozarks Healthcare recently welcomed Todd Tamalunas as Vice President of the Ozarks Healthcare Medical Group. Tamalunas brings over 30 years of diverse experience in multiple healthcare settings to Ozarks Healthcare. In his role as Vice President of the Ozarks Healthcare Medical Group, he will focus on increasing and strengthening the healthcare system’s variety of medical specialties, continuum of care, and relationships in the medical community.

“Todd is focused on relationships with providers and each member of our medical group,” Tom Keller, Ozarks Healthcare President and CEO, said. “His experience in operational analysis, practice development, physician recruitment, and management will contribute to the growth and advancement of our organization as a whole. Todd is committed to creating innovative solutions for accessibility, satisfaction, and experience between patients and providers.”

Tamalunas spent much of his early career in the suburbs of Chicago Metropolitan Area. He began his career working in multispecialty delivery systems as a staff accountant and later became the Financial Director of Operations for Wheaton Medical Clinic. He eventually became the Assistant Vice President of Physician Practices for a rural medical group. During the ten years he spent in this role, he developed and implemented strategies focused on patient-centered care. In 2009, Tamalunas moved to South Carolina, continuing leading both multispecialty and large, single-specialty physician groups. In 2012, he joined Self Regional Healthcare as the Vice President of Physician Practice Operations and has successfully led its medical group for the past eight years, nearly doubling the amount of its employed physicians within his first four years there.

Tamalunas and his wife, Susan, have three children.  Andrew, 27 years old, and Emilia, 24 years old, are both pursing their master’s degrees, and their younger sister, Sasha, is a freshman in high school.

“I look forward to being a part of Ozarks Healthcare’s exciting future,” Tamalunas said. “The Ozarks Healthcare Medical Group has a collective wealth of world-class knowledge that is unique given its rural location. As an organization that is focused on growth, we have a fantastic opportunity to leverage these skillsets by increasing access to healthcare services even more for our community. ”

Dr. Antony Joseph, board certified surgeon and president of Ozarks Healthcare’s medical group, said Tamalunas’ plans regarding provider recruitment are expected to compliment the organization’s ongoing expansion.

“The goal of Ozarks Healthcare’s expansion project is to pull our medical group even closer together to make us more accessible to our patients under one roof,” Dr. Joseph said. “The more providers and specialties we can add to our group, the better we can create new service lines and tailor specialized care to our patients. Todd’s background and experience will allow our medical group to build in on these areas.”

The Ozarks Healthcare Medical Group is a multispecialty practice that provides expert diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care for a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries. The group consists of 56 physicians and represents nine countries. For more information about Ozarks Healthcare’s medical group, visit https://www.ozarkshealthcare.com/medical-group/.
