An accident in West Plains ended in an arrest after a man fled the scene.
According to the West Plains Police Department, an accident occurred Wednesday evening in West Plains around 7 pm at the intersection of Highway 63 and CC Highway.
That’s when a vehicle involved in the crash took off down CC Highway, but police were also called to another accident involving a vehicle of the same description of the vehicle.
Two occupants of the fleeing car were injured in the crash, 19-year-old Steven Detwiler was reported to be the driver of the car.
Detwiler was later arrested by Howell County authorities and is now charged with Armed Criminal Action, Domestic Assault 3rd Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Subsection 4 – Exhibiting.
