A man from Ava has been sentenced to prison. 53-year-old Chad Emerson who was the subject of a statewide amber alert in 2021, entered an Alford plea to charges of domestic assault. Emerson allegedly took his son after an argument with his wife and assaulted his wife. He also allegedly fired a gun in a closed garage. Emerson safely returned the child to his mother through a third party. Emerson was sentenced to 6 years in prison.
