The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reports several arrests.

On March 20, 2023 Donald Marsh-Oden was arrested on a Felony Douglas Count warrant for Failing to register as a sex offender. The case was investigated by Detective Long after he received information that Marsh-Oden was living in Rogersville and had not provided that information to law enforcement as required by Law. Bond was set at $1500 cash only and Marsh-Oden has since posted bond.

On March 15, 2023 at 2222, Deputy Dering and Deputy Evans were dispatched to T Highway for two male subjects fighting in the ditch. Deputies were then advised one of the male subjects was now at a residence in the area. Deputies located and identified the subject as Shawn Diego Ellis age 51 of Fordland . A search of Ellis and his property resulted in a syringe that field tested positive for methamphetamine being seized. Ellis was placed on a 24hr hold and a warrant was obtained for his arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance with his bond being set at $1500 cash only

Crystal Martin age 43 of Wasola, was arrested on March 16, 2023 on a Dougals County Warrant for Domestic Assault 1st Degree and Driving while intoxicated involving physical injury. Martin’s bond was set at $25, 000 cash only and she currently remains incarcerated in the Douglas County Jail. The original incident occurred on November 17, 2022 and was investigated by Douglas County Cpl. James Nelson. On the date of the incident Martin was involved in a domestic assault with her boyfriend by running over him with her car. Martin was found to be impaired while she was operating the vehicle.

On March 12, 2023 Deputy Box responded to the Vera Cruz area of Douglas County for a report of a burglary. At the conclusion of his investigation, it was determined that the abandoned vehicle was owned by Emert Wall age 34 of Ava. A vehicle registered to Wall was located stuck on the property where items were found in the vehicle that linked him to the burglary on the property. A warrant was obtained for Wall for Burglary 2nd degree, Stealing and property damage all felony charges. On March 18, 2023 Wall was located at his family property in Vera Cruz where he was arrested on his warrant. Wall is currently incarcerated n the Douglas County Jail on a bond of $2500 cash only.

On March 15, 2023 Deputy Box made a traffic stop on a vehicle on 5 Highway for speeding. Deputy Box found indicators that led him to believe the three occupants were transporting illegal narcotics. Deputy Box contacted K9 Amigo and Cpl. Nelson. Amigo alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of over 30 grams of methamphetamine. Eric Mitchell age 30 of Ava, Robert Beckwith age 27 of Ava, and Dale Broyles age 54 of Ava were all arrested and charged for Trafficking 2nd Degree and Unlawful possession of Drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $50,000 cash only.

On February 27, 2023 Deputy Box took a report of a stolen portable saw mill in Western Douglas County. The value of the sawmill was approximately $10,000. On March 7, 2023 Sheriff Degase and Cpl. Nelson located the stolen sawmill at a residence on Z Highway while attempting to locate a subject on an outstanding warrant. The sawmill was positively identified and returned to its owner.

As a result of he investigation, a warrant was obtained for Joshua Lingo age 34 of Seymour for Stealing. Bond was set at $10,000 cash only.
