Authorities in Baxter County arrested a man from Nevada City California Thursday afternoon after officers served a search warrant on Denton Ferry Road in Cotter Ar. 57 year old Craig Richard Whittingslow was arrested on numerous drug charges.
During the search, officers found approximately 13 pounds of high grade marijuana with an estimated street value in excess of $100,000. Also seized were a large sum of cash, numerous firearms, a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a 2011 American Coach motor home. The total value of the seized drugs and assets is estimated to be nearly $500,000. The drugs were packed with an odor absorbing powder and were stored in a charcoal lined duffel bag to absorb odor.
Whittingslow is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear before the Circuit Court to answer on June 21st. He is also being held in custody for federal authorities.
Agencies involved in the investigation and arrest were the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force, and the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.
