The St. Louis Cardinals lost to the San Diego Padres last night 4-2 at Busch Stadium. Luke Weaver gave up 2 first inning runs and the Cardinal offense couldn’t get going against the Padres pitching. The only runs for St. Louis came from a 2 run homer by Marcel Ozuna. The Cards will have an off today, before opening a weekend series at home with the Chicago Cubs on Friday.
The Kansas City Royals slide continued last night, with a 7-0 loss to the Reds. Jason Hammel was tagged with the loss, but pitch well with no support. The big blow for the Reds was a grand-slam by Adam Duvall. The Royals are off today and will host the Houston Astros this weekend.
