The St. Louis Cardinals end the 1st half of the baseball season with a win under a new manager. Matt Carpenter lead off the game with a home-run and the Cards cruised to a 6-4 win over the Reds on Sunday, under interim manager Mike Shildt, who was named interim manager Saturday night after the firing of Mike Matheny.
The Cards head into the All-Star break with a record of 48-46 and 7 1/2 games behind Chicago in the N.L. Central division race. Catcher Yadier Molina and Pitcher Miles Mikolas will represent the Cardinals at the All-Star game Tuesday night in Washington D.C.
