A Birch Tree man accused of sexually abusing a young girl will be in court on Friday and on Monday faces several charges. 49 year old Scott McCarty will be in court Friday on charges of two counts of second degree burglary and 1 count of stealing with a value of $750 or more. Then on Monday McCarty will be back in court on charges of 2 counts of first degree endangering the welfare of a child with sexual conduct, deviate sexual intercourse with a child younger than 12 and first degree sodomy or attempted sodomy involving a child younger than 12, He also faces charges of one count of endangering the welfare of a child younger than 17 by engaging in sexual conduct as a parent or guardian and first degree rape or attempted rape and first degree statutory rape of a child younger than 12.
