A sex offender in Baxter County has been charged with rape. 30-year-old Jesse Avant is accused of raping a child less than 14 years old. Avant was a level 2 sex offender. He posted $100,000 bond and was released from custody. Avant was convicted of aggravated sexual assault on a child in Texas in 2012.
