A man from Licking has been arrested after allegedly stealing a car battery. 26-year-old James Burris III was arrested after Texas County Deputies were called to a residence on E Highway for a reported theft. Deputies developed a suspect in the theft and went to a residence of Kirk Street where they found Burris hiding under a bed. A stolen car battery was recovered and Bu0rris was taken to jail. During the booking process deputies found a bag containing tobacco, marijuana and a lighter wrapped in latex gloves on Burris. Burris is charged with felony stealing and is being held on $100,000 bond, Additional charges are expected for bringing the drugs to jail.
