There’s a couple of changes for the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater WP Area one is the retirement of Lavada Mann, Executive Director of the club since February 2016. (Not pictured) Lavada Mann began with the BGC while she was a full time teacher at WP Middle School. She worked both jobs full time until July of 2016, when summer school ended, Mann then went to the club full time. The current club operations will be handled by the Administrative Coordinator Aaron Evans and the Program Director Ashley Smith while the search for a new director is underway. An appreciation event for Mann will be held at the Boys & Girls Club building in WP this Friday from 11 to 1. The building is located at 613 W 1st Street. The public is welcome to attend. The second change, so to speak is the club’s receiving of a $1000 scholarship from MO State Representative Shawn Rhoads. Several members of the BGC Staff was at the capitol recently to receive the generous scholarship from Rhoads.
