It’s been almost a year since the great flood of 2017 and the struggle to rebuild and start over will continue to be at the forefront for many areas.  But some financial relief is now available to Missouri as the state will receive more than $100 million in federal funds for disaster relief.  The funding isn’t just in response to the 2017 flood but for areas that have repeatedly been damaged or destroyed by flooding. About 58 and a half million will go toward fixing roads and bridges and some other rebuilding projects and more than $41 million will be available to use for preventative measures.  According to Gov. Eric Grietens, some community projects have already been approved.  Congress passed the budget deal in February.
