The St Louis Cardinals won their 5th straight last night as Adam Wainwright out-dueled Tyler Chatwood in freezing temperatures and the Cards beat the Cubs 5-3 at Wriggly Field. Matt Carpenter had 2 hits and 3 RBI’s, and Paul DeJong homered for the Redbirds. Cards and Cubs play again today, Luke Weaver will pitch for the Cardinals, John Lester for the Cubs.
The struggles continue for the Kansas City Royals, as they lost both games of a split double-header at Toronto. Blue Jays win the first game easily 11-3. The Royals made a game of it the nightcap, but Toronto wins in 10 innings 5-4. The 2 losses drops the Royals season record to 3-12, they will be at Toronto again this afternoon.
