It is expected that the Cardinals will activate Tyler O’Neill before the start of the game. The power hitting outfielder, O’Neill has been tearing it up in Memphis, and the Cardinals need some help in the outfield with Tommy Pham nursing a groin injury.
The Kansas City Royals struggles continue, as they lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 15-5 yesterday in Toronto. Start Ian Kennedy gave up 6 runs in 5 innings, and the Royals bullpen gave up another 9 in 3 innings, including a Curtis Granderston grand slam in the 8th. The Royals loss drops them 10 games below .500. KC will take a day off today and will try to right the ship this weekend, starting with a split double-header at Detroit.
