West Plains School District Receives $25,000 Donation from Anonymous Donor
The West Plains School District recently received a $25,000 donation from an anonymous donor to support the West Plains Middle School Zizzer Innovation Academy and improvements at the West Plains Elementary library.
Twenty thousand dollars of the donation will help outfit the Zizzer Innovation Academy classroom with equipment and supplies that support an innovative learning environment. The Zizzer Innovation Academy is a new program at the West Plains Middle School for the 2018 -2019 school year for incoming 6th grade students. The program will focus on innovation, technology, and problem based learning.
Five thousand dollars of the donation will also help provide flexible learning spaces in the West Plains Elementary Library. Libraries now require students to have flexible seating spaces in order to move, reconfigure and work together. The space will be made for more collaboration open to the whole school. As the district moves forward into the future these spaces will become even more vital as students will not only have access to world opening literature but technology to connect them to the global community.
