The St. Louis Cardinals outlasted the New York Mets in a pitchers duel at Busch yesterday, winning in 13 innings, 4-3. Noah Syndergaard and Carlos Martinez were both really good in the early going, which set the tone for the game, but the Cardinals bullpen was just a little better, as the Redbirds rallied to tie the game at 2, and again at 3 in the 10th inning, before a Dexter Fowler walk off single drove in the winner in the 13th for the Cards.
The Cardinals travel to Pittsburgh for a 3 game weekend set with the Pirates beginning tonight. Miles Mikolas is on the bump for the Cardinals.
The Kansas City Royals struggles continued last night, as they opened a 4 game series with the Chicago White Sox at Kauffman. The Chi-Sox win game one 6-3, game 2 of the series is tonight.
