The West Plains City Council met Thursday afternoon to interview three residents for the vacant council seat left by Kody Frazier. After talking to Jessica Nease, Brenda Smith and Joseph Klod the council. After the interviews the council discussed the candidates and put the issue to vote. The vote was tied at 2-2 for Smith and Nease. The mayor then informed the council that if one of then did not change their vote that Smith would continue to serve as interim councilman until another meeting could be held in June or July. The council deliberated some more and Councilman Topliff changed his vote to Nease. Nease will serve until the next Municipal election in April of 2019
