The St. Louis Cardinals earned a split of their 4 game weekend series in San Diego, after winning the first 2 games, they lost the last 2, including a 5-3 loss yesterday. Adam Wainwright, trying to return from the DL was not good, lasting only 2 1/3 innings, he gave up 2 runs but walked 6. Harrison Bader hit a 2 run homer for the Cards, who have dropped into second place in the N.L. Central division. The Cardinals have a travel day today, open a series in Minnesota tomorrow.
The Kansas City Royals lost at Cleveland 11-2 as Danny Duffy got roughed up again. Duffy pitched only 3 1/3 innings, and gave up 9 runs. The Royals are back at Kauffman tonight with the Tampa Bay Rays.
