The St. Louis Cardinal bats finally woke up yesterday, especially Dexter Fowler and Matt Carpenter, as the Cards beat Minnesota 7-5 to earn a split of the 2 game series. Fowler had a pair hits and 2 RBI’s, Carpenter had 3 hits as the Cardinals end the road trip 3-3. It’s back home to Busch for the Redbirds tonight to open a 4 game series with the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Kansas City Royals continue to struggle, losing again yesterday at Kauffman to the Tampa Bay Rays 5-3. Jason Hammel was tagged with the loss and is 0-5. KC has the day off today, and will host the N.Y. Yankees this weekend.
