
A Mountain Home man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on drug charges. 41 year old Edmond Gary Crow failed a court-ordered drug test and was sent to jail for violating parole, then after arriving at the Baxter County Detention Center, jailer discovered that he had brought meth into the jail. Crow entered a guilty plea to the new charges as well as the old charges, which also involved drugs. Judge Gordon Webb sentenced Crow to 10 years.
Thursday a man who is currently a prisoner at the North Central Unit plead guilty in Baxter County Circuit Court to stealing a truck in June of 2016. DNA matched Michael Pedry. The vehicle was stolen in Mid-June of last year and later found on a county road. Investigators found a blood stain on the seatbelt buckle. A sample was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock and matched to Pedry. Pedry was already in the prison in Calico Rock and had been involved in the theft of other trucks. Thursday he was sentenced to 5 years in prison with two to serve and 3 suspended.
A Viola man was in Baxter County court this week and changed his plea to guilty on drug charges. Charges were filed against Rex Foster in December of last year. Foster was found in possession of a smoking pipe with narcotics residue, the type used to ingest meth. A small plastic Bag containing a crystalline substance was hidden in his truck. At the time of his arrest, Foster was on Felony parole for various violations. He was arrested in Baxter County where he was given 5 years probation.
