The St. Louis Cardinals lost a nail biter at Milwaukee yesterday in the return of Alex Reyes to the rotation.  Harrison Bader and Tommy Pham both hit solo homers for the Cards, but that was all the offense could muster as the Redbirds lost 3-2.  The Cards had a 2-1 lead but the bullpen couldn’t hold it as St. Louis lost 2 of 3 in Milwaukee.  Reyes went 4 inning, giving up just 3 hits and no runs in his return.  Tyler Lyons blew the save, and Sam Tuivallala took the loss.

The Cardinals are back at Busch to play the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight, Rookie Jack Flaherty get the start.

The Kansas City Royals exploded for 9 runs in the 1st two innings last night against the Minnesota Twins, then had to hold on for a win 11-8.

Mike Moustakas had a homer and 4 RBI’s as the Royals scored 2 in the 1st, and 7 in the 2nd innings.  But the bullpen let Minnesota back in it the middle innings.
