Former Texas County Inmate Files Suit against Jail Staff

A former inmate at the Texas County Jail is suing for $1 million. Harry Scheina III claims that while he was at the Texas County Justice Center, the jail staff refused to provide paperwork to file a grievance. He asks for $1 million for payment of his medical and psychiatric expense and the adjustment of grievance processes so that paperwork is available. In the paperwork filed in the lawsuit, Scheina names jail administrators, Pam Tripp and Jennifer Tomaszewski that he had a broken jaw which he says needed surgery to repair and that he was refused medical treatment by the staff and Dr Bentley. Scheina also alleges that Sheriff James Sigman used excessive force to restrain him re-breaking the jaw. Named as defendants are Sheriff Sigman, Tomaszewski,, Bentley, and Tripp. Tripp no longer works for the county. Sheina is currently serving a 10 year sentence at the Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center at Fulton . Sheina has a history of arrests.
