The Cardinals were shutout by the Chicago White Sox 4-0. St Louis’ Luke Weaver had a strong showing on the mound going 8 innings and giving up one run and 3 hits, but still gets the loss.
Cardinal RH pitcher Miles Mikolas has been removed from the active roster for next Tuesday’s All-Star game because he is scheduled to start Sunday for the Cards against Cincinnati.
St Louis is off today then open a weekend series with the Reds on Friday.
Despite a pair of home runs from Mike Moustakas the Kansas City Royals still lost to Minnesota last night 8-5.
Kansas city is off today then goes to Chicago Friday to play the White Sox.
