2 People Injured In Accident In Carter County

Two people were injured, one seriously in a one vehicle accident Saturday night in Carter County. The highway patrol says that 42 year old Christopher Davison failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the road and hit a tree. Two passengers in the vehicle were injured. 42 year old Julie Hays suffered serious injuries and was flown to St Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, 39 year old Brian Hoffman suffered minor injuries. Both Hays and Davison are from Illinois, Hoffman is from Baldwin. Davison was also charged with felony driving while intoxicated involving an accident with serious physical injury, faire to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident, no proof of insurance, failure to display valid registration. He was taken to butler County jail and placed on a 24 hour hold. The accident happened 2 miles south of Van Buren on Browns Road
