Former Texas County Sheriff & Deputy Plead Not Guilty

The former sheriff of Texas County and the department’s chief deputy were in court Tuesday and  pleaded not guilty to charges filed against them when they were arrested by the Highway Patrol last week.

James Sigman and Jennifer Tomaszewski entered their pleas during a formal arraignment in Texas County on Tuesday.  Both face felony charges of first degree assault, first degree robbery, 1st and 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child, harassment and unlawful use of a weapon, along with misdemeanor charges of misuse of official information by a public servant and false impersonation. Sigman is scheduled to appear in court August 8 at 9 am, while Tomaszewski is scheduled to appear in court August 21 at 9 am.
