Royals Lose To Yankees, Cardinals Had A Day Off

The Kansas City Royals opened a 4 game series in New York with the Yankees last night.  Jacob Junis was roughed up early as the Yanks scored 2 in the 1st and 4 more in the 4th and beat the Royals 7-2. Junis lasted only 4 2/3, giving up 9 hits and 7 runs.  Salvador Perez provided the only offense for KC with a homer in the 6th.  The Royals are back in the Bronx tonight.

 

The St. Louis Cardinals open a 3 game series with the 1st place Chicago Cubs tonight at Busch Stadium.  Luke Weaver will toe the rubber for the Redbirds who are 9 games back of Chicago and in 4th place in the National League Central.
