A traffic stop near Walmart in Mountain Home resulted in the arrest of a Baxter County man on multiple drug and weapons charges. 57-year-old John Denzer of rural Mountain Home was booked and posted bond over an hour later. Denzer was stopped and reportedly smelled intoxicated. Denzer was instructed to step out of his vehicle for standardized field sobriety tests. The officer reportedly located a glass smoking pipe typically used to ingest methamphetamine near the seatbelt, and Denzer was placed into custody. The patrolman then located a baggie in Denzer’s wallet allegedly containing a white crystal-like substance field-testing positive for methamphetamine. When the officer searched the vehicle, he reportedly located a Sako .17 caliber rifle. Denzer is a convicted felon from Minnesota. Denzer was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center on felony counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia for the use of ingestion of methamphetamine, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and possession of firearms by certain persons. He was later released after posting $5,000 bond.
