A Cabool Businessman was in Federal court Tuesday in Springfield and pled guilty to violating the clean water act by dumping grease into the Big Piney River. 51 year old Brian Dale Fleming pleaded guilty to one count of knowingly discharging a pollutant into the Big Piney River without a permit. Fleming is the owener of BF Byproducts LLC a grease recycling business. Under terms of the plea agreement, the government and Flemiing recommended a fine of $15,000 and a restitution payment to the state of Missouri of $3,818. The case was investigated by the EPA, Criminal investigation division, the U.S Coast Guard, The Missouri Department of Natural Resources, The Texas County Sheriff’s Department and Cabool Police Department.
