Man Wanted In Fulton County Captured in Kansas

After a lengthy high speed chase in Reno County Kansas, 30 year old James Monroe Smith also known as Jay Smith has been captured. Smith had been on the run since earlier this month when he was involved in an incident in Fulton County where he allegedly tried to run over Sheriff Albert Roork and a Deputy, which prompted a man hunt in Fulton and Oregon County. The warrant for Smith’s arrest notes he is charged with three felony counts of aggravated assault, and one count each of first-degree criminal mischief and fleeing, as well as being a habitual offender. The bond was set at $100,000.
