
The St. Louis Cardinals got a great pitching performance from veteran Adam Wainwright last night and beat the Dodgers 5-0 to pull into a tie for the #2 Wildcard spot. After dropping the first 3 of the series, Waino helped the Cards avoid being swept at home, going 6 innings, giving up only 2 hits and no runs. The bullpen took over in the 7th and allowed just 2 more hits and competing the shut-out. Marcel Ozuna had a home-run and 3 RBI’s and Yadier drove in 2 for the Redbirds.
Cards and Dodgers are tied with season records of 82-68. St. Louis will open a series in Atlanta with the Braves tonight.
