Mountain Home Man Pleads No Contest in 2 Cases

A Mounatin Home man has entered a no contest plea in 2 criminal cases. 29 year old Jason Tomes will have formal sentencing on September 27th. He faces charges of stealing a vehicle in California, but was arrested on drug charges before he could make it to court on the original charge.  Early this month, Tomes was stopped by Mountain Home police for driving a vehicle on Cardinal Street observed crossing the centerline several times. A search of the vehicle was undertaken after the stop, and a white crystalline substance field-testing positive for methamphetamine was found, along with a set of digital scales. A passenger in Tomes’ vehicle told officers the car crossed the centerline because Tomes was “weighing the dope while driving.”
