A former employee for the city of Briarcliff was arrested Monday on forgery and theft charges. 40 year old Teri Jean Buege of Mountain Home was arrested after the sheriff’s office received a complaint from the city treasurer alleging that a theft of city funds had occurred. Buege had already been terminated by the city. It is alleged that between December 1 2017 and July 3, 2018 about $1,327.87 in public funds went missing from the water department account. These included several deposits where cash was missing and at least one forged check and the falsification of city records.. Buege was interviewed by Sheriff’s Investigators on August 15th, during which time she admitted to all of the allegations made against her. A warrant was then obtained for her arrest, and she was booked into the Detention Center yesterday on charges of: felony Forgery and felony Theft of Property. Buege was released after posting $7,500 bond. She will be in court September 27th.
