The St. Louis Cardinals playoff hopes are fading, after getting swept by the Milwaukee Brewers this week. The Cards managed just 2 hits, losing at Busch last night 2-1. With the loss, the Cardinals are eliminated from the race for the division title, and are now a full game behind the Dodgers in the race for the #2 Wildcard spot. St. Louis will wrap the season this weekend in Chicago with the Cubs.
The Kansas City Royals get another win last night in Cincinnati beating the Reds 6-1. Heath Fillmeyer was terrific on the the hill, pitching 7 1/3, giving up just 4 hits and 1 run to gain the win. The Royals are right back at it tonight, at home, with the Cleveland Indians, who have already clinched the Central division crown.
