Another lawsuit has been filed against the former Texas County Sheriff and the Texas County Sheriff’s Department. 41 year old James Denny filed the lawsuit in U.S. District court and alleges that despite attempts to file a grievance and write letters to other county officials, nothing was ever done. Denny spent time in the jail December and January and is gay. Denny claims the Former Sheriff James Sigman and Former jail administrator Jennifer Tomaszewski made physical threats to him for attempting to write the media. Denny was being held on a drug charge. The lawsuit alleges that Denny was moved into an area with sex offenders and was told that he would like it in there with other freaks. He also says he was deprived of his own money to buy stamps or telephone time to contact people about his case. Denny has other allegations and is seeking $500,000 from Sheriff Sigman and $2 million from Texas County. This is the second lawsuit filed by an inmate, Harry Schiena filed a suit in May seeking $1 million.
