Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) has received approval for federal funding for the largest expansion in the history of the medical system, located at 1100 North Kentucky Avenue, West Plains. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has approved a $52.8 million Community Facility Direct Loan. I Asked OMC CEO Tom Keller his thoughts.

This Rural Development investment along with local private banks, hospital funds and other private gifts and contributions will be used to expand the existing OMC hospital facility in West Plains along with upgrading the electronic health record and refinancing prior loans. The total investment will be approximately $70 million.
