The National Weather Service says a meteor breaking up is the cause behind a bright flash that lit up Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas Friday night.. People reporting sightings of the meteor everywhere from Willow Springs, West Plains, Mountain Home and Salem. Meteorologists are investigating to see if the meteor made it to the ground.
