Another member of the Herschend family has passed away. A Silver Dollar City spokesperson confirms the death of Ron Herschend. Herschend graduated from Branson High School. He earned degrees from the University of Arkansas and Drury University. Herschend went on to work in management for Silver Dollar City from 1980 to 1990. He also served as the General Manger of White Water from 1990 to 1995. Herschend served as the Western District Commissioner in Taney County from 2001 to 2009. Just a few weeks ago, the wife of Silver Dollar City Co-founder Peter Herschend died. Jo Dee Herschend had a long battle with cancer.
