A Former Assistant Police Chief in Mountain View was hit by a vehicle while she crossed highway 60. Ellie Carson who is a reserve officer and former assistant chief was walking in the crosswalk on highway 60 in Mountain View Friday when she was struck by a vehicle. Carson was flown to a Springfield hospital where she underwent surgery. Authorities say Carson is recovering but will need more surgery.
