An Izard County man has been arrested in Baxter County following a domestic disturbance. 55-year-old Mark Fidler had fled the scene still in possession of the weapon. According to the probable cause affidavit, Fidler was reportedly traveling toward Calico Rock when he was stopped and detained by an Izard County deputy. At the scene of the domestic incident, the Baxter County deputy spoke with the victim with a large bleeding lump on the side of her forehead near her eye. The woman told the deputy she and Fidler had argued because he allegedly wanted money for meth. She said when she would not give him the money, and he began tearing the house apart, retrieved a revolver and threatened to kill her. She said Fidler then reportedly hit her in the head with the barrel of the revolver. She then called the sheriff’s office, and the allegedly heavily intoxicated Fidler fled the scene. Fidler has been charged with a felony count of second-degree domestic battery. His bond was set at $10,000
