Wednesday the Senate Health and Pensions Committee heard a bill that proposes action in continuing the uphill battle against Missouri’s opioid crisis. Senator Sater , the bill’s sponsor, believes this bill will be effective in reducing controlled substance abuse behind the scenes.
Senate bill six’s four-part plan includes updating the controlled substance list, increasing the penalties for unlawful possession of controlled substances, enhancing penalties for fentanyl trafficking as well as making dealers face second degree murder charges when their customer dies as a result of their sales.
